Our Family Life

Nathan, Alyssa, Cobey, Suzanne, Ken, Emily, and Austin
We are raising our 5 kids together as one family - Ken’s two (Alyssa 9 and Cobey 6) and Suzanne’s three (Austin 13, Nathan 11 and Emily 9) and we call it “crazy fun.”
The kids all get along pretty well and treat each other as siblings - yep … the strong friendships along with some bickering from time to time LOL but they really do pretty well together.
We have the kids on and off throughout the week and then we have all 5 with us every other weekend so we try to do something fun with them.
Austin is 13 and in the 7th grade at Spring Branch Middle School. He is in their gifted program and in mostly advanced classes so he’s got a pretty tough workload while at school and with his homework. He isĀ the quarterback on their football team and is also on the track team running the 400 and is also on the tennis team this year.
Nathan is in 5th grade and making his way through his last year in elementary school. He’s a great student and really excels at math! He plays football on the Varsity Spring Branch Ranger team and he can’t wait until August when they start up again. He also has an interest in acting and has taken some acting classes (he’s our class clown - Jim Carey watch out! LOL).
Emily is in 3rd grade and enjoys pestering her older brother, Nathan, and manages to maintain straight A’s! She loves reading and school in general and is always complimented on her sweet behavior at school. She is a cheerleader for Nathan’s football team and it’s so fun to watch her be so “girly.”
Alyssa is also in 3rd grade and her favorite subject is math. She plays soccer in San Antonio and she’s a fierce competitor on the field. She’s also a very strong swimmer and loves to be in the water. It’s fun that she and Emily are only 8 mos apart so they are such good friends. They have some interests in common but play well independently as well.
Cobey is in 1st grade and is doing very well academically - he’s very bright. He played soccer for a couple of seasons and has now played flag football for the past two years. He will start in tackle football this next August and he’s very excited about that. He’s very active and he definitely keeps us on our toes (sound like anyone else in the family you might know?) …
We’d love to hear about what all of you have been up to and hear about your kids and their interests too.
